Loaf are delighted to be releasing the new single from electronic pop sensation Seeland. ‘Library’ b/w ‘Call The Incredible’ is the first single to be taken from their debut album ‘Tomorrow Today’.
Seeland were formed by Tim Felton (ex Broadcast) and Billy Bainbridge (ex Plone) in the winter of 2004/05 amid the fallout from Birmingham’s ‘Retro Futurist Electronic scene’ – a music scene inspired by space age pop, the BBC Radiophonic Workshop, Joe Meek and eccentric 60’s library music.
The two tracks on the single give you an idea of what can be expected from the bands forthcoming album; catchy, melodic songs with esoteric electronic edges and amazingly detailed production. ‘Library’ is a warped pop ballad that started out as an attempt to emulate Delia Derbyshire but ended up like a Scott Walker song produced by Conny Plank, whilst the flip side
‘Call The Incredible’ is like a great lost 60’s psychedelic folk tune beamed in from the moon.
Expect great things from Seeland. You won’t be disappointed.
