I find this quote from this great social critic quite fitting to describe Charlie’s EP, it has that unique quality to it which doesn’t sounds like anything modern; It contains four compositions that apart from the use of computer technology sound pretty much a product of a more naïve era than of that of a guy who was born only twenty four years ago.

“After The Clouds Clear” is the debut EP for Charlie March on LOAF. Charlie has worked previously with Andy Ramsey of Stereolab/Europa 51 in a project called “Toy Orchestra” as well as soundtrack work for various short films. For this EP Charlie has gathered around him quite a lot of interesting people which gives this project a certain added charm.

Joe Mount AKA Metronomy, a rising star in the electronic scene, has produced, mixed and contributed a remix for the EP. Dominic Murcott of the High Llamas, did the strings arrangements while the Elysian Quartet (Simon Fisher-Turner, Killa Kela, Hot Chip and Max De Wardener) provided the lush and cheerful strings.

Over the past few months as well as working on new material for his forthcoming album. Charlie has performed live with the Elysian Quartet at a number of venues across the UK including a festival appearance at the LoveBox weekender in London, sharing stages with Hot Chip,
The finished EP includes a video for the “Goodbye Penny” - directed by Matt Andrews.
