Amine Mesnaoui & Labelle, Red Snapper - Krazé Muneataf Tanzen
Berlin and Réunion based duo, Amine Mesnaoui & Labelle release a gloriously reworked version of a track from their debut album ‘African Prayers’.
Red Snapper’s version maintains the deep trance vibe of the original, whilst adding their unique rhythmic perspective to create a dense web of sound to get lost in.
"'Krazé Muneataf Tanzen' is above all a moment of trance. All the colors of the ritual come together here to offer an apotheosis to the listener. “Krazé” is a kind of summary of the album and is also a tribute to the mythical Berlin club Tresor." - Amine Mesnaoui
"As soon as we heard the album we wanted to reinterpret one of the tracks. 'Krazé...' was an obvious choice, it has a mesmerising, dark, percussive build that is relentless.
We added our own live double bass bowing and plucking; and extra live and electronic drums which we felt added to the intensity of the original.
This was one of those reworks that just came together really naturally. The musicianship in the original is unique and outstanding; it was a pleasure and an honour to work on it.
As a result of working on 'Krazé...' we asked Amine to play piano on 'Travis Bickle' from our forthcoming album Everybody is Somebody [Released May 29th 2022] and he did a sterling job." - Rich Thair, RS
